Seaside Pebbles.

It was wonderful to have all my granddaughters here for the weekend, I so love being with them. They are all so gorgeous and have such different personalities, I am always amazed when I see them together; my husband and I feel very blessed to have been so lucky to have them in our lives. I think that grandchildren are one of the greatest blessings in life, especially when you are an older grandparent. Today we decided to go and collect pebbles and shells from the beach because my two ‘away’ granddaughters needed some things from nature for a school project. Their parents came with them and we all got well wrapped up before we left home, it was a cold day but the conditions were quite good for this time of year. My granddaughters managed to get water into their wellington boots as they searched amongst the rock-pools on the beach to collect their bounty, typical behaviour for the young and enthusiastic! We were all fascinated about how many different types of pebbles and shells there are on the beach; when you make an effort to go out and really look at nature it makes you appreciate all the variations and patterns there are in everyday objects. We climbed back to the car-park through Danes Dyke and my youngest granddaughter’s wellington boots made loud squelching noises as she walked along the path – the views were lovely, the spring flowers just beginning to open, the snowdrops looked beautiful.
